Coastal Wedding | Why Marinas are great Wedding Venues

Dufour 560 | A day sail with Queensland Yacht Charters

My father built a boat when I was young, it’s a 30ft, centre console, a Pelin design built from ply with a glass finish called Midnight; and I love her. She is a simple design, a fast ride, is spacious with good storage, has lots of shade and…

The Jellyfish App

Have you ever thought how great it would be to have a jellyfish identifying tool with relevant first aid information in the palm of your hand? I know I have thought this atleast a dozen times when I’ve watched weird and wonderful transparent things float past the boat.

Introducing my new favourite app, The Jellyfish App! An app that identifies over 280 species of jellyfish, their location, seasonal information, toxicity level and sting treatment as well as name, photo and description. It’s basically the equivalent to a jellyfish encyclopaedia!

The app has GPS capabilities and is not just limited to Australia or english speaking people. Yes, your half cousin four times removed in Mexico can also use the app and read it in Spanish! Check what species are near you, if there are any alerts and it even provides information on what to wear – who doesn’t love a fashion savvy app?

There is also a special paid feature that allows you to send images to Dr Gershwin (the jellyfish guru) for advice and to add to the listings in the app – even better!

Created by a couple of Aussies in Tasmania this app is the perfect tool for boating around the Whitsunday’s to keep in the know and be informed on what to worry about and what not to worry about.

You can download the app from the app store or visit The Jellyfish Website to find out more information.

Happy boating kids!
